The initial appointment is 60 minutes. Follow-up visits are typically 30 or 60 minutes, depending on your pet’s needs and treatment plan.
This varies based on your pet’s condition and goals. Some pets benefit from short-term intensive care, while others do best with ongoing maintenance treatments.
No referral is required. However, collaboration with your primary and referring veterinarian is encouraged to ensure comprehensive care.
Services are provided within partner veterinary hospitals and clinics. Locations, hours, and scheduling details can be found on the Schedule page.
Appointments are either scheduled online, through Dr. McFaddin's system, or with the partnering hospital. The scheduling method is provided on the Schedule page.
A late cancellation or no-show fee may apply. Please provide at least 24-hour advance notice if you need to reschedule so the appointment can be offered to another patient. Additional details can be found in the Late Cancellation/Now Show form and the pricing section of the Schedule page in the website.
If you’re running late, don’t worry—Dr. McFaddin will still see your pet! However, your appointment will end at the originally scheduled time, and the full fee will apply. We’ll make the most of the time we have to prioritize your pet’s care.
New client and patient paperwork must be completed prior to your first appointment. Forms are typically emailed to you in advance and are also available on the website.
Pricing varies depending on the service and appointment length. Pricing is outlined in detail on the Schedule page of the website.
Payment is due at the time of service. All services must be paid in full at the end of your appointment before departure. Payment is taken either through McFaddin on the Move or the partnering hospital.
Most integrative and rehabilitation therapies are well tolerated and designed to reduce pain and improve comfort. Treatments are tailored to each individual patient.
Some pets show improvement quickly, while others require a series of treatments. Progress depends on the condition, severity, and consistency of care.
Appointment frequency depends on your pet’s specific condition, goals, and response to treatment. Some pets benefit from more frequent visits initially, followed by a gradual decrease as they improve, while others may require ongoing maintenance care. Dr. McFaddin will create an individualized treatment plan and recommend a schedule that best supports your pet’s comfort, function, and overall well-being. Most patients begin with every 1-2 weeks. The appointment frequency is gradually lengthened. A lot of patients benefit from quarterly "tune-ups" long-term.
Yes, in most cases. As a mobile, appointment-based service, Dr. McFaddin frequently works without a dedicated assistant or technician, so pet owners are often asked to help gently hold or support their pet during treatment.
Your presence helps your pet feel more comfortable and secure. Gentle restraint by a familiar person often reduces stress and allows treatments to be performed safely and effectively.
Your comfort and safety are important. If you have concerns, please let us know ahead of time. Light oral sedation may be necessary, or Dr. McFaddin may recommend scheduling at a different location where additional help will be available.
If your pet may be difficult to handle, please notify us in advance. We can discuss options to keep everyone safe and ensure your pet has the best possible experience. Oral sedation or rescheduling may be necessary.
Not necessarily. Many treatments are designed to be low-stress and comfortable. Pets are often allowed to relax, change positions, or take breaks as needed. We also use a lot of treats as a distraction and to reinforce a positive experience.
Please let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly. Depending on the location, clinic staff may be able to help, we can modify the treatment approach, or rescheduling at a different location may be necessary.
Many pets are relaxed or sleepy for 24 hours. Some may have increased energy or improved mobility. Mild soreness can occur, especially after new therapies.
If you notice increased pain, sleepiness lasting >24 hours, reduced appetite, vomiting, or diarrhea please email Dr. McFaddin.
Refill requests can be submitted verbally during appointments, Shepherd SMS system, or via email (info@mcfaddinonthemove.come).
No. Prescription refills will not be called in to pharmacies.
As a single-doctor mobile practice, phone-in requests are very time-consuming and take away from patient care. Written prescriptions allow for greater accuracy and efficiency.
For human pharmacies or veterinary clinic specific pharmacies (Vetcove, Covetris, etc) you will receive a written prescription, which you can:
Take to your preferred pharmacy
Upload to an online pharmacy service
For online pharmacies not requiring a membership (Chewy, Pet Meds, etc) I may be able to authorize refills online.
If you didn’t request a written prescription during your appointment, we kindly ask for 48–72 hours to process refill requests. Thank you for your understanding!
