More Than a Standard Appointment

Integrative and rehabilitation medicine appointments are designed to provide comprehensive, hands-on care that supports comfort, mobility, and overall well-being. Because these visits involve more time, specialized training, and active treatment, they are structured and priced differently from a standard veterinary appointment.

Longer appointment times
Integrative visits typically last 30–60 minutes or longer, allowing time for a thorough evaluation of movement, posture, muscle tension, neurologic function, and pain patterns, followed by treatment.

Hands-on therapies
These appointments often include:

  • Acupuncture

  • Spinal manipulation (animal chiropractic)

  • Massage and trigger point therapy

  • Manual therapies

  • Rehabilitation exercises

Advanced training
Veterinarians practicing integrative and rehabilitation medicine complete additional education and certification beyond veterinary school to safely and effectively provide these specialized therapies.

Individualized care plans
Each patient receives a personalized treatment plan that may include therapeutic exercises, nutritional support, supplements, or herbal therapies tailored to their needs.

Multiple therapies in one visit
Many patients benefit from a combination of therapies during the same appointment, creating a multimodal approach that supports healing, comfort, and improved function. Integrative and rehabilitation medicine focuses on supporting the whole patient, helping pets move more comfortably and maintain a higher quality of life.

Referral Focused Appointments
Patients may be referred by rehabilitation veterinarians or other specialists for spinal manipulation and myofascial therapy. These referrals typically reflect the specialist’s assessment of the patient and the role of targeted hands-on treatment within the broader care plan.
